From the vibrant Edo period in early 19th-century Japan, ukiyo-e woodblock prints emerged as a popular art form, depicting landscapes and daily life. Katsushika Hokusai, a master of this genre, created Evening Glow at Seta in 1804, offering a tranquil riverine landscape. The scene features a distinctive arched bridge spanning a body of water, flanked by lush, tree-dotted islands and gentle hills. Horizontal bands of soft, reddish-orange clouds stretch across the sky, characteristic of the period and evoking a serene twilight. A lone boat with a figure glides on the water in the foreground, adding a subtle narrative element. This piece, with its harmonious composition and delicate palette
