The bridge surface, rendered in earthy tones, shows hints of activity, while the river beneath reflects the diffused light in shifting shades of green and grey. Small boats are visible on the water, and plumes of smoke rise from the bridge's left side and distant factory chimneys, dissolving into the hazy sky. Painted in 1903
