Emerging from the Victorian art scene, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, a founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, created "Beata Beatrix" in oil on canvas between 1871 and 1872. This painting serves as a poignant tribute to his late wife and muse, Elizabeth Siddal, depicting her in a trance-like spiritual state rather than representing her death. Rossetti drew inspiration from Dante Alighieri's "La vita nuova", establishing a parallel between the poet's love for Beatrice and his own affection. The work is rich in symbolism: a haloed dove-the artist's nickname for Siddal-delivers a white poppy, alluding to her passing. Above her head, Florence's Ponte Vecchio is visible
