In this vibrant oil on canvas by Francesco Guardi from the 1750s, the biblical encounter between Abraham and three angels unfolds. An elder Abraham, wearing a turban, bows in humble recognition before three youthful figures, two clearly winged, gathered around a table under a large tree. To the right, a woman, likely his wife Sarah, discreetly observes the scene from a doorway set against a classical portico. Guardi's lively brushwork captures the drama of Genesis 18. This narrative piece would bring a touch of classical elegance to a dining room or a well-appointed study.
